Chemo will Kill you

What the 'professionals' won't tell you...

Ruth talks about her long term vegan success. She is a 22 year survivor of a double mastectomy/breast cancer that went into her bone and lungs. She never did chemo or radiation.

Question: have you changed your diet since the video?

At 12:21am on December 22, 2010, Ruth Heidrich said…

Hi, Mikey, No, nothing's changed on my diet.  I love fruits and veggies, esp. leafy greens such as kale, parsley, basil, Chinese cabbages of all sorts.  Been a vegan triathlete for 28 years now and a runner for 42, raw vegan for 11.  And still doing my daily mini-triathlons.

As for dialysis, as far as I know, once the kidney function is lost (glomeruli destroyed), they don't regenerate.  Changing to this diet, however, will stop the loss at whatever stage that person is in.  If they're on dialysis, it's probably too late, however, I'd still recommend the change to raw vegan, because if the kidneys don't getcha, heart disease, cancer, stroke, arthritis, diabetes, on and on with all the diseases the SAD diet causes.

Thanks for writing and keep on showing videos.  Look for Forks Over Knives for a more recent section on my activities.

Question: how long did it take to cure your Cancer?

At 12:01am on December 26, 2010, Ruth Heidrich said…

Actually, no sensible doctor dares declare breast cancer "cured" because there are always cancer cells lurking in bones and any part of the body.  They can be dormant if they don't get a blood supply and hormones to turn them on, and that's the state I'm in. And I attribute my diet for that!  To give a partial answer to your question, the "hot spots" in my bones disappeared after 2 to 3 months on my low-fat vegan diet, my liver enzymes normalized a little faster, and the lesion in my lung is still there, but encapsulated.  According to research, cancer cells can remain dormant for up to 50 years, just waiting for conditions to allow their growth.  That's what keeps me on the "straight and narrow"!
